VANILLA Automation is a technology start-up company based in Austria and the first mechanical engineering company, which has it´s 100%-focus on E-Mobility. With our specialization in production equipment for sustainable projects, we create lasting impact for our stakeholders and the communities in which we live. Since our founding in 2021, we are applying our insights and experiences on the development of a unique standard for assembly automation.
As a privately owned company with an outstanding network of experts and partners, VANILLA Automation has a very flexible working structure, which enables it to fulfill almost any request in the field of innovative technology in very short implementation times. That is the most important value during the ongoing transformation.
The products of VANILLA support the GREEN DEAL and contribute to a cleaner environment in combination with sustainable strategies and technologies on the path to minimized Cradle-to-Grave emissions.

Vanilla Automation - Technology for our future
Today’s economies are dramatically changing, triggered by development in emerging markets, the accelerated rise of new technologies, sustainability policies and digitization. Increasing automation and new business models have revolutionized other industries, and automotive will be no exception. The global automotive sector is in its biggest transformation in the history.
The industry of factory automation is following this trend. Classical mechanical engineering companies had to adopt as well or have to do immediately. Due to changing needs and requirements in the transformation towards E-Mobility, it was necessary to rethink and reengineer the way of automation for powertrain production.
VANILLA Automation was establishment during this ongoing change to create a complete new global standard for the assembly of E-Drive units and modules. Assembly automation designed for Transformation E.
Management
Norbert Kahr, CEO and founder VANILLA Automation
Starting the professional career in 1995, Norbert served more than 25 years in senior management and shareholder positions in the industry with focus on automation for automotive powertrain production. While working with global stakeholders for more than two decades, a network of automotive powertrain and investment experts all over the world was established.
When he started to push first E-Mobility projects in 2005, it was hard work to convince partners, management colleagues and employees from these ideas. Years later it is confirmed that the plan to push projects for the transformation was the right choice. VANILLA Automation is the result of a continuous drive to support our changing powertrain world. Norbert is a mechanical engineer on bachelor degree (1994) and made his master graduation with focus on finance and strategy in 2015.
